Activision has confirmed that it still owns the Crash Bandicoot franchise and is currently exploring ways to bring the beloved marsupial “back to life.”

“Activision owns Crash Bandicoot and we continue to explore ways in which we could bring the beloved series back to life,” a representative told Game Informer.

Late last week rumors started circulating that Activision had sold Crash back to Sony. The first game in the franchise was released by Naughty Dog as a PlayStation exclusive in 1996.
