Activision has finally offered up an official name for its upcoming FPS based on The Walking Dead series, it is now called The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.
The game is being developed by Terminal Reality and will be based on AMC’s TV series as opposed to Telltale Game’s Walking Dead collection which is based on Robert Kirkman’s comic series. The game is set before the events of the show’s first series and follows Daryl and Merle Dixon as they attempt to make their way to Atlanta.
The publisher says that The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is “a do-whatever-you-need-to-survive first-person action game that brings the deep, character-driven world of AMC’s Emmy Award-winning TV series onto console gaming systems and the PC in a frightening, new way. The game puts players in the role of the mysterious, crossbow-wielding survivor Daryl Dixon, alongside his overbearing brother Merle, on a haunting, unforgiving quest across the Georgia countryside to reach the supposed safety of Atlanta.”
