Adventure Time Publisher Announces Regular Show Game

Posted on April 10, 2013 AT 10:00am

D3 Publisher—the company responsible for publishing Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?!—will be releasing a game based on Regular Show later this year.

“Duuudes. A for real Regular Show video game is coming out this year! Like, for real for real. And it’s going to be awesome,” the show’s creator, James Garland “J.G.” Quintel, tweeted.

D3 and Cartoon Network have yet to reveal what platform(s) the Regular Show game will be released for, nor have they mentioned who will be developing the title.

“As a brand, Regular Show is tailor-made for an interactive release, with main characters who spend their time slacking off, playing video games, or involved in hijinks that are certainly worthy of being in a game,” said Cartoon Network Enterprises’ Peter Yoder, vice present of consumer products. “With a show creator who loves games working closely with a partner that has proven success creating high-quality licensed titles, we’re excited to release our first Regular Show game later this year.”

Regular Show, for those of you not in the know, is a quirky, often times absurd cartoon show about best friends Mordecai, a blue jay, and Rigby, a raccoon. Upon learning of the upcoming videogame, I watched the first season straight through last night. And goddamn if it wasn’t some funny, funny stuff.

Totes recommend.
