Alan Wake

THE BUZZ: Revealed at the VGAs, Alan Wake returns in Alan Wake: American Nightmare, for the Xbox Live Arcade. Alan’s new adventure puts him on the trail of his doppelganger named Mr. Scratch. The trailer reveals Wake’s affinity for firearms, blazing an uzi into the darkness, and familiar use of its flashlight shooting mechanics.
EGM’s TAKE: If there was any game that lends itself to episodic gameplay delivered digitally, Alan Wake is it. The trailer showed off the game’s trademark use of lighting and unsettling atmosphere. We just hope they can keep the fine balance between creepy mystery and gun totting action.
