Max Payne

The developer behind Max Payne and Quantum Break is on track to launch its next game in 2019.

The game, currently known only as Project 7 or P7, was discussed in Remedy Entertainment’s recent 2017 financial statement (via Wccftech). According to the document, Remedy has just finished preliminary preparation on Project 7 and is ready to dive into full development this year, with the goal of launching the game in 2019.

“Our other game project, project P7 that is being done with 505 Games S.p.A., proceeded from the pre-production phase to the production phase at the beginning of the period under review,” the financial statement reads. “The development of the game has progressed according to our plans. P7 is expected to be released during 2019.”

When Remedy Entertainment first signed that publishing deal with 505 Games, it was revealed that P7 will be a “cinematic third person action game set in a new Remedy-created universe,” featuring “an intriguing story and a game structure offering a long-lasting experience.” A job listing from last November hints that P7 may be an open-world online multiplayer experience, similar to Destiny or Tom Clancy’s The Division, though this has not been confirmed by Remedy.

P7 is currently in development for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
