THE BUZZ: Remedy has released the first in a series of developer dairies for Alan Wake’s American Nightmare.

This first entry discusses the game’s new combat mechanics and a few of Alan’s new weapons.

EGM’s TAKE: Looking at the game it’s almost impossible to tell that Alan Wake’s American nightmare is actually an arcade release. Remedy has done a fantastic job transferring their engine down to this scale and even managed to squeeze in some new game mechanics to boot. The game features a new arcade mode alongside the story this time, which sees Alan having to fight off waves of enemies while attempting to survive from dusk until dawn. Featuring plenty of unlockables and even scoreboards this is the ultimate place for budding young fiction fighting authors to hone their weapon and torch skills. We can’t wait to get our hands on this and find out Alan’s fate.
