THE BUZZ: In anticipation of its launch next week, Remedy has dropped a launch trailer for Alan Wake’s American Nightmare.

EGM’s TAKE: We really like the creepy-ass, Rod Serling-esque narration. Alan Wake kind of reminds us of an episode of the Twilight Zone, so the correlation works. However, the trailer’s gameplay emphasizes visceral combat rather than the psychologial aspects of the story. While certainly much easier to show in a preview, we’re hoping that American Nightmare doesn’t stray too far away from the brooding tension that made the original Alan Wake such a breath of fresh air. We’ll know forsure on February 22, when the game hits Xbox Live.
