Alien: Isolation accolades trailer stresses press praise about scare factor

Posted on June 27, 2014 AT 11:30am

A new trailer for Alien: Isolation juggles gameplay moments with all the praises sung coming out of E3 earlier this month about The Creative Assembly’s efforts to make a genuine Alien game.

Having gone hands-on with Alien: Isolation, albeit with an optional trial mode, I can safely assure you that it’s not at all another Aliens: Colonial Marines waiting to happen. As I mention in my E3 2014 opinionated impressions, the lone Alien in this game is scary, and its presence—seen and unseen—is a constant source of tension that harkens back to Ridley Scott’s original film.

Alien: Isolation launches across Windows PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 October 7.
