The short trailer doesn’t give much away in terms or story, showing a bunch of soldiers, a bunch of aliens and a lot of venom. It’s more designed as a way of easing fan’s disappointment over the game’s recently confirmed delay.
EGM’s TAKE: Originally slated for a Spring release, the game is now due to hit Fall 2012 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, to allow the team to concentrate on making a great game rather than rushing it out the door to meet deadlines. This sounds like a good plan, it’s better to have a fantastic game than one that releases on time and is full of bugs, and after such a long development cycle a few more months won’t hurt. There are incredibly high expectations for this game, and that’s just from the EGM staff, but can Gearbox deliver the Aliens game that we’ve all been waiting for; one that induces fear around ever corner, and a real feeling of helplessness. We’ll have to wait until later in the year to find out.
