To signal the end of Final Fantasy XIV Square-Enix has announced that it will be opening up the game’s servers to all account holders regardless of whether they have an active subscription or not.
Starting today, anyone who has played the game previously can hop on and play for free until Monday when the servers will shut down to prepare for the game’s relaunch. So if you enjoyed the game and want to say goodbye to its current incarnation then be sure to hop on.
Any progress made during this weekend will not be carried over to A Realm Reborn so go wild.
