American McGee—you know, the guy behind Alice and Alice: Madness Returns—and his crew at Shanghai’s Spicy Horse have taken their next game, Akaneiro: Demon Hunters, to Kickstarter.

Akaneiro: Demon Hunters is a free-to-play, browser-based action-RPG that blends elements of Little Red Riding Hood with Japanese mythology.

According to the Kickstarter page, the project needs “to raise $200,000 to support our current team of developers in realizing the most complete version the game. Listed below you’ll find out what we earnestly believe is necessary for Akaneiro to truly become the game we know it can be.”

Here’s the video from their Kickstarter page. In it, American McGee explains the project in more detail and shows the game in action.
