Battleborn‘s player count is seeing some critically low numbers lately on PC.

In the last 24 hours as of July 8th, the Steam Charts have clocked the MOBA-shooter hybrid with a peak player count of 742. To put this in perspective, the game’s peak player count managed to exceed 12,000 shortly after launch.

While reviews for the game varied, its abrupt drop-off has been widely attributed to the subsequent release and success of Overwatch, which launched mere weeks after Battleborn. Perhaps developer Gearbox Software may want to follow in the footsteps of the struggling Evolve and consider a free-to-play model.

He keeps his gaming palette wide, but, gun to his head, he’d have to say shooters are his genre of choice. Find him on Twitter @idole808
