Analyst Predicts GTA V’s Launch Date Will Be Later Than Expected

THE BUZZ: Analyst group Sterne Agee has given their outlook on the release date of Grand Theft Auto V—and it’s later than expected.
EGM’s TAKE: Speaking to video game industry website Gamasutra, the group is saying that they now expect GTA V to launch early in 2013—with Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia stating that March 2013 is a more likely release window than their previous statement of the game coming near the end of this year.
Why that period? It would take the game out of the crowded holiday season line-up—which this year will feature new Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed games—as well as leave more potential for a version of Grand Theft Auto V to be ready for the launch of the Wii U.
What do you think? Will GTA V be hitting this year, or does it make more sense for Rockstar to release it early next year? Would you rather have the game during this year’s busy holiday season, or next Spring when less games will be out?
