Angry Birds Space Tops 10 Million Downloads in Just Three Days

THE BUZZ: Rovio has announced that Angry Birds Space has been downloaded more than 10 million times since its release just a few days ago.

The game launched for iOS, Android, Mac and PC on March 22, featuring 60 new levels and new birds with new powers.

“10 million Angry Birds Space downloads in less than 3 days! Thanks to our fans, stay tuned for more!” said the developer on Twitter.

EGM’s TAKE: It seems that adding new mechanics and some new birds is more than enough to make users throw down even more cash for this addictive game. It’s always dangerous to stray from a game’s formula, but it appears that Rovio did it subtly enough to avoid ruining the core concept. It won’t be long before Angry Birds tops one billion downloads across all versions according to the developer. Now that’s impressive.
