Rovio is teasing a major crossover event for their next big release, hinting at a Star Wars edition of Angry Birds in series of images and a new Tumblr page. But it will cover the entire series, or just the good stuff?

Earlier yesterday, the mobile developers sent out an update on their Twitter feed with the first clue:

Not long afterward, an official Tumblr page was launched, with the shadowy figure revealing a hidden lightsaber, all but confirming that the next Angry Birds sequel would be a joint production with LucasArts. According to the website, the official announcement for the game will be made in Times Square, New York on October 8th at 10 a.m.
