Anonymous Threatens to Attack Zynga on Guy Fawkes Night

Posted on October 29, 2012 AT 04:16am

Anonymous has threatened to release several key documents and unreleased games from the developer’s servers on Guy Fawkes Night.

The group stated on its website that phase one of Operation maZynga had begun and on November 5 it will release “the key to the data files” of confidential documents related the Zynga executives. Anonymous has also threatened to release several games that it took from the developer’s servers.

The reason for the attack is that the group is upset about Zynga’s “outrageous treatment” of employees and its actions against other developers. Anonymous believes that Zynga is planning further layoffs and claims that the company has threatened legal action against “anyone that speaks to the public about this plan.”

The group did release a YouTube video detailing its plan, but it was taken down for being a “violation of YouTube’s policy on depiction of harmful activities.”
