Anthem is still a couple weeks away (well, for most of us at least), but EA and BioWare were apparently too excited to wait and have released the game’s launch trailer.
The game’s focal point is building up your Javelins and making them as strong as possible, and the launch trailer appropriately shines the spotlight on the four different classes of exosuits—the versatile Ranger, the tanky Colossus, the ninja-quick Interceptor, and the elemental Storm. Oh, and it also features an “epic” rendition of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” for some reason. Maybe it’s because your Javelin “goes off the rails” by flying. Sure, let’s just go with that explanation.
BioWare recently gave us our first look at what Anthem‘s endgame content and post-launch roadmap will look like, and most of it will revolve around taking on tougher challenges, new missions, and Cataclysm live events to get stronger gear for your exosuit. It will also add an entirely new region to the map in one of its early DLCs, possibly with its first post-launch season, “Echoes of Reality,” which will kick off in March.
EA has predicted that the game will sell six million copies at launch. After Battlefield V failed to meet sales expectations despite moving a whopping 7.3 million units, and with Apex Legends‘ free-to-play model bringing in a ton of players but yet to prove itself financially, the publisher seems to be putting a lot of pressure on Anthem‘s success.
