BioWare says it has a fix for Anthem‘s console crashing ready for next week’s big update.
Head of live service Chad Robertson recently tweeted out that the team had identified several causes for Anthem‘s power-down crash. Until the fix is released, in the event of such a crash, Robertson says users can manually power down their system with no risk of damaging the hardware, adding that the team has not encountered any instance in which such a crash has bricked a console, which seems to contradict earlier player reports.
After thorough review, we have not encountered an instance where Anthem has “bricked” a PS4 console. If you are experiencing anything different, please reach out to @EAHelp so we can track the incident and investigate. Thanks for your patience.

This fix will be part of a major update coming to Anthem next week on March 12th. The update will also include fixes for a host of other technical issues, as well as quality-of-life changes, such as a reduction to the respawn timer and restrictions for most activities. The update won’t fix everything, however, including the game’s problematic health and shield bug, which apparently needs more attention. What will and won’t be included in the March 12th update was covered in BioWare’s recent Anthem livestream.
To throw another problem on Anthem‘s plate, players recently discovered a new bug that makes one of the game’s starting weapons the best firearm in the game. Fortunately, BioWare was quick to identify the issue, and promised that its fix will be included in the March 12th patch.
