Anthem

Anthem will feature a social space where squads of players can take a break from saving the planet.

Fans know Anthem to have a hub world called Fort Tarsis, where they can restock supplies and pick up missions, but in this zone is a smaller area where players can connect with each other, akin to Destiny‘s Tower. The social space is called the Launch Bay, as revealed in a Twitter post by lead producer Michael Gamble, in which we can see a number of players gettin’ jiggy with it.

The Launch Bay will host up to 16 players per instance, but outside of using Forges and grabbing new contracts, we don’t know the full extent of the activities players can get up to in the area. Fans will have to wait for more details on the feature, which are apparently coming “soon”.

According to a separate tweet, the Launch Bay will not be active in the game’s two upcoming demos.

Anthem is slated to launch February 22nd on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, dropping one week early for EA/Origin Access members. At a recent preview event for the game, EGM learned that Anthem is genuinely fun, but may end up lacking some of the depth fans are expecting.
