THE BUZZ: Publisher GamerFirst has announced that their free-to-play MMO APB Reloaded has reached three million registered users.
The MMO currently ranks as the second most popular free-to-play game on Steam, and a boxed retail version is scheduled to hit stores soon. The publisher also announced the first major content update for the game known as Fight Club:
“Fight Club is an entirely new game mode that adds fast-paced third-person shooter play set in new maps within APB Reloaded’s city setting. It translates to a distinct new game play experience now available to players . APB Reloaded is the world’s first Free2Play open world action game, distinguished by its immersive player-versus-player (PvP) urban warfare premise and deep customization of characters, cars and other features. For trigger happy gamers, Fight Club delivers a pick-up-and-play mode that’s essentially a session-based online shooter with vehicles.”
EGM’s TAKE: The team has worked hard to pull APB from the ashes, and it appears that it may be paying off.
