Apparent Kingdom Hearts III leak shows a brand new Pixar world

Two leaked screenshots may have just revealed another world we’ll see in Kingdom Hearts III: Monsters, Inc.

The screenshots surfaced on ResetEra, and they depict a stripe-legged, purple-haired Sora fighting a monster boss with Mike Wazowski and Sully in tow. The background is also clearly a location from inside the Pixar movie’s eponymous corporation, with a mural on the wall and several areas that presumably lead to the different Scare Floors.

While the first screenshot is clear, the second is overlaid with text, perhaps indicating that it’s a picture not meant to be seen outside of Square Enix.

Take these screenshots with a massive grain of salt, however. Even the user who initially shared them with ResetEra, Wrestleman, admits that the pictures may not be genuine.

“I have no idea if these are legitimate, but they seem pretty convincing,” he wrote in a follow-up post. “I have no idea what the source of them is. The person who sent them to me got them from a different person who also did not give a source. The person only told my acquaintance ‘got them from a friend who got them from an FPT server where they were quickly removed afterwards.’ Sorry if this is out of left field or shouldn’t be posted or ends up being fake or whatever.”

We know of a few worlds that will be appearing in Kingdom Hearts III already. We know that a Pixar crossover is already in the works due to the inclusion of Toy Story, and we’ve also seen glimpses of Disney’s Tangled and Hercules.

Kingdom Hearts III has no known release date yet, but it’s expected to be out in late 2018.
