Ark: Survival Evolved‘s creative director Jesse Rapczak has said that a sequel to the game will likely happen a few years from now.

The next expansion to the game, Aberration, is scheduled to arrive later this year, but in an interview with DualShockers, Rapczak offered his thoughts on what the future of the game holds after this expansion.

“I think, you know, as we get down the line, over the next year or two, Ark needs to have a sequel at some point. It’s definitely gonna be on our minds about when it’s the right time to something like that,” he said.

Aberration introduces a new derelict, malfunctioning Ark to the game that features an elaborate underground biome system, extreme radioactive sunlight, environmental hazards, ziplines, climbing gear, cave dwellings, and a new set of creatures for players to take on and tame. The expansion also features the “Nameless,” Element-infused humanoids which have evolved into vicious light-hating monstrosities.

Ark: Survival Evolved is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
