Assassin’s Creed 3: Freedom Edition Unboxed, Definitely Looks Patriotic
Posted on July 17, 2012 AT 01:28pm
Ubisoft’s new sizzle reel for Assassin’s Creed III doesn’t include any gameplay footage, instead getting up-close-and-personal with the insides of the “Freedom Edition” box set. Ironically, this very American-themed deluxe collectible isn’t actually available in North America—oh, the cruel irony!
If you’ve got a good memory, you might remember that a whopping three Assassin’s Creed III special edition sets (“Freedom”, “Join or Die”, and “Special” Editions) are only available in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Not a single one of those places sounds anything like “The United States of America” at all.
Am I the only one who thinks that’s a little backwards? Considering that much of the game features protagonist Connor Kenway slicing, cutting, and dicing his way through anything British, that seems a bit odd at a glance.
If you’re living on American soil and have friends in the U.K. that can air mail this to you, count yourself as one of the lucky ones. Unless Ubisoft and retailers figure out a way to get the Freedom Edition out worldwide, this trailer is all you’ll ever see of it.
