THE BUZZ: Darby McDevitt, Lead Scriptwriter for Assassin’s Creed Revelation’s, answers one of the most burning questions on fan’s minds: Are Ezio and Altair related?

In Ubisoft’s latest community video, McDevitt reveals that yes the two are part of the same bloodline, however they are not directly related. Ezio and Altair are both directly related to Desmond, which is why he can access both of their memories, but the two come from separate sides of his family tree. He also cleared up a few misunderstandings such as that Mario never mentions that Altair is related to Ezio, and that Altair is not in the Auditore family crypt, but is in fact in the Sanctuary which is full of great Assassins.

EGM’s TAKE: We’re glad to have an official answer to this question and it should put a stop to the constant arguments here at EGM.
