Assassin’s Creed Creative Director Leaves Ubisoft

THE BUZZ: Alexandre Amancio, Creative Director for the Assassin’s Creed franchise, has left Ubisoft Montreal.
He quit the role to become Chief Creative Officer at Quebec-based marketing company Cossette. ”Video games and advertising have many common elements,” said Amancio. ”In both industries, we are always looking for new ways to engage the consumer to the brand.”
“In addition, like advertising, the video game industry must now take into account and supply a very important social dimension in its development and strategies. The game is no longer just a game, it’s a community, relations between players, and the brand,” he added.
EGM’s TAKE: This is a big blow to the Assassin’s Creed team, however they have gathered enough experience over the years to get through a loss like this.
