Assassin’s Creed Early Concept Video Appears Online

Posted on May 7, 2012 AT 07:19am

Ever wondered what Assassin’s Creed looked like before it became the mega series that we know today? Well this concept video will give you some idea.

The video below contains a number of game concepts from between 2002 and 2009. One of those concepts, found at 1.30, is for Prince of Persia: Assassins. This little idea would go on to become Assassin’s Creed.

It looks absolutely amazing - the first person perspective kills, citizens trying to apprehend you and even two people on a horse wielding a broad sword. Now this is our kind of game. Obviously the concept went through a few changes before it became Assassin’s Creed, but you can clearly see the template. We’d love to see some of these ideas brought back.

You can check out some early concept art for the series here.

Would you like any of these ideas brought back for the next game?
