While unsurprising, it’s now official: Ubisoft has released details on how Assassin’s Creed III has become the company’s most pre-ordered game in history.

The publisher has announced that pre-order for Assassin’s Creed III are more than double the numbers last year’s Assassin’s Creed Revelations were seeing. Revelations itself, by the way, was Ubisoft’s most pre-ordered game ever up until ACIII, so that certainly tells you something about the growing popularity of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

“Assassin’s Creed 3 is one of the most anticipated games of the year and this impressive pre-order mark is just a hint of the game’s potential,” senior vice president of sales & marketing Tony Key said in Ubisoft’s announcement. “When players discover the new features, historical period, characters and gaming experience that the development team has worked so hard to create, we’re confident that they will agree that this is the biggest, best Assassin’s Creed game yet.”
