Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Next-Gen to Feature Single-Player Online Features
Posted on March 5, 2013 AT 05:49am

The next generation versions of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will include online connected single-player features, according to creative director Jean Guesdon, ensuring that players are always connected to the community even when playing solo.
“ACIVBF will also be available on Next Gen consoles. In addition to improved graphics and physic, Next Gen versions will bring to the players new connected features allowing them to feel that even if they remain “Single Player” it will be better to be a “Single Connected Player,” said Guesdon in a leaked internal Q&A obtained by AGB (via VG247).
“I mean, that Next Gen Consoles will allow players to have a solo experience that benefit the presence of a huge community.”
Whether he means brand new features specific to Assassin’s Creed or that the game will make use of the announced social features of the PlayStation 4–such as instant messages and gameplay sharing–is unknown at this time. I just hope that whatever these features are they don’t become intrusive to solo play.
