Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Team Worked On Naval Multiplayer Prototypes

Posted on June 21, 2013 AT 03:14am

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag game director Ashraf Islamil has revealed that the development team was forced to abandon early prototypes of naval multiplayer battles.

Naval battles play a major part in ACIV‘s single-player campaign and they almost played a role in multiplayer as well. Sadly the development team couldn’t get them working on an acceptable level and was forced to abandon the idea.

“Naval multiplayer, unfortunately, we don’t have it,” Ismail told GameSpot. ”It’s something we tried at the beginning, but we didn’t feel we can get it to a good enough level for this iteration.”

That last statement seems to suggest that we may see naval multiplayer battles make an appearance in a future Assassin’s Creed title.
