Assassin’s Creed Revelations – Den Defense Mode Explained

THE BUZZ: Assassin’s Creed Revelation’s will feature a tower defense inspired mode known as Den Defense, which will allow Ezio to protect the captured Borgia Towers.
The Borgia Towers side-quest from Brotherhood, which saw Ezio liberating towers into Assassin’s control, now has a repayable value. The Borgia can now reclaim the towers and if you challenge them it begins Den Defense mode which sees Ezio place Assassin’s on top of towers to defend against waves of enemies. “[Replayability] got us thinking about how we could layer that gameplay and extend it, and give some tension,” Brent Ashe, Presentation Director for Revelations, said. You’ve liberated [the tower], but because the city of Constantinople is constantly in this fight between the Byzantines and the Ottomans, and with the Templars in the mix and you in the mix, how can we make it so those dens don’t just stay benign? Now they can be contested.”
EGM’s TAKE: A new mini-game is a fantastic idea, especially with how much fun claiming the Borgia Towers was in Brotherhood.
