In a new video for Assassin’s Creed Unity, senior producer Vincent Pontbriand touches upon the dev team’s goal to make Unity a return to form for the franchise.

According to Pontbriand, Ubisoft Montreal wanted to reinvigorate all three major pillars to the Assassin’s Creed series: navigation, stealth, combat.

“This is my fourth Assassin’s Creed—this feels like the first one all over again,” Pontbriand says in the video.

Improved components to Unity include cover-based stealth mechanics, a revamped control scheme that features Parkour Up and Parkour Down buttons for navigation, and much grander sense of scale courtesy of modern technology, which allows for bigger crowds and more dynamic interactions.

Assassin’s Creed Unity launches on PC, PS4, and Xbox One October 28. Two weeks later, a current-gen original title, Assassin’s Creed Rogue, launches on PS3 and Xbox 360 November 11.
