Assassin’s Creed: Utopia Has No Links With Assassin’s Creed III Except Story
Posted on June 21, 2012 AT 09:21am

The Assassin’s Creed: Utopia smartphone game won’t link to or affect Assassin’s Creed III in any way, except as a continuation of the game’s narrative.
Several publishers have chosen to link their major releases with smartphone games as a free form of advertising. Ubisoft feels that a narrative link will be enough to ensure sales.
“There are no links between the games,” Assassin’s Creed producer Andreane Meunier told Eurogamer. “But the narrative will lead into the AC3 narrative, since it’s a kind of pre-era to the Assassin’s Creed 3 era.”
Assassin’s Creed: Utopia focuses on the beginning of the American colonization. “In our narrative, Abstergo is building a program called Utopia in order to revisit and reconstruct eras like this,” she detailed. “The colonies were getting built while Abstergo’s revisiting the same kind of process through the simulator.”
Meunier was not willing to offer any details regarding what type of game Utopia will be, but promised it won’t be a card-based game.
Will you pick up Utopia when it launches?
