Big day for any Persona fans out there. First, Atlus has officially announced Persona 4 Golden, an updated and expanded version of their hit RPG Persona 4 set for release on the PlayStation Vita. P4 Golden will add new characters, movie events, animated cinemas, and will include 1.5 times teh amount of voice over compared to the original PS2 verion.
As well, in totally crazy news, Atlus also announced “Persona 4 The Ultimate in Mayonaka Area,” a new 2D fighting game created in conjunction with Arc System Works (creators of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue). The game will feature characters from both Persona 4 and Persona 3, and will be released in Japan in arcades in Spring 2012, and on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in Summer of 2012.
Finally, Japanese magazine Famitsu gave a few early details about Persona 5. Basic preparations for the game’s development have been completed, and the typical Persona staff is in place, including the same director, character designer, and main composer as Personas 3 and 4.
