Avalanche Exec: The PS4 Will Out-power Most PCs for Years to Come

Avalanche Studio’s chief technology officer believes that the PlayStation 4 has enough power to out-perform most PCs over the next few years.
“The PS4 will not only be a very powerful gaming machine from a hardware perspective, but it will also be a social tool and integrated marketplace more akin to successful mobile devices,” Linus Blomberg, Avalanche’s chief technology officer said.
“We are confident that we’ll bring open-world gaming to a whole new level because of it,” he added. “I’m glad Sony decided to go with 8GB RAM because it means that the PS4 will out-power most PCs for years to come.”
The PlayStation 4 currently resembles a mid-range PC, based on the specs seen so far. However, PCs will continue to move on after the PS4 launches, so don’t expect it to out-perform for very long.
