October 19th is shaping up to be a big day for Dark Souls fans. Not only will Dark Souls Remastered be launching for Nintendo Switch, but Bandai Namco also recently announced a new collection, Dark Souls Trilogy, will arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The $79.99 collection will come with the three main games—Dark Souls Remastered, Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, and Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition—as well as the DLC for the second and third entries. As seen briefly at the end of the announcement trailer below, the trilogy will include three discs packed into a collectible steelbox case.
While all three games are currently available on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the new collection seems like a great buy for anyone looking to get into the franchise for the first time. Of course, the steelbox will also be a nifty collector’s item for seasoned fans.
It’s unclear why the trilogy won’t be arriving on Nintendo Switch, but perhaps that will change in the future. For now, fans already invested in the idea of playing Dark Souls Remastered on the go will at least have a small bonus over PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players. The Solaire of Astora amiibo will unlock the “Praise the Sun” gesture on the Switch version, letting players make the iconic pose right from the start of the game.
Dark Souls Trilogy will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 19th.
