Based on these job listings, Blizzard might be making a new RPG

Blizzard Entertainment has opened up several spots for new hires, and the job listings page may give us a few clues about what the company’s next games could be.

We’ve already known that Blizzard has several projets in the works. Many of the job listings center around an unannounced Diablo game, for example, and we’ve been following what seems to be some kind of all-new first-person PvP game with vehicles. Now, it seems that Blizzard is also hiring a few experts in board games and RPGs to help build its next world.

It’s not clear if these new hires will be working on that first-person PvP vehicle game or a separate project, but the new listings have a sudden spike of interest in RPG and story elements of a game. One post for a senior software engineer asks for “passion for co-op games, RPGs, and board games” while another tasks a lead level designer with “world building from conception to the final stages of polish.” Yet another position seeks a senior quest designer, and wants “experience world building and writing for games” and “experience with quest design and implementation.”

Obviously, there’s a lot we don’t know about this upcoming game (or possibly games, plural). Now that Blizzard seems to be working on the story and world, however, perhaps we’re drawing closer to a teaser or an announcement of what the final game will be.

Blizzard is looking to hire people who know their way around RPGs, but the project doesn't sound like what you might expect.
