Basement Crawl release delayed, still coming sometime this first quarter

Posted on January 29, 2014 AT 10:31am

Bloober Team’s Bomberman-inspired PS4 debut Basement Crawl has been delayed to an unknown point in Q1 2014, the developer announced today.

“While the completed version of Basement Crawl was prepped for launch during the last week, several exciting opportunities to partner with major industry players to enhance, refine and add-to the game arose,” CEO Piotr Babieno said in a press statement.  “Although a difficult decision, we decided that the best choice for us, as a team, was to delay Basement Crawl so that we could take full advantage of these opportunities.  We will be able leverage those new partnerships to further grow and improve the game while still providing an amazingly fun multiplayer experience for PS4 owners. We’ll be able to announce more details in the days and weeks to come.”

Basement Crawl was set to launch in Europe today, followed by a North American release “very soon.” At this point, Basement Crawl’s release window encompasses any time during February or March if Bloober is dedicated to delivering that Q1 2014 launch.

The European release date and first gameplay trailer for Basement Crawl were only just announced and released late last week.
