A new teaser trailer offers an unsettling first look at Bloober Team’s PS4 exclusive Basement Crawl.
I suppose the trailer is appropriately eerie, given that today is Halloween, and that I really shouldn’t be half as surprised as I am at the level of creepiness conveyed in this two-minute teaser—the only thing we’ve seen of Basement Crawl this far is concept art for a child-sized fat clown sucking on a pacifier.
The teaser depicts a young girl asking her grandmother whether it’s safe to go outside and expressing her desire to have friends to play with. The grandmother assures that little girl that she has a friend—the grandmother. All of this is accompanied by shots of a basement in ruin, populated with the aforementioned clown, a crash test dummy, and other peculiarities.
Bloober Team’s Basement Crawl will be among the PlayStation 4’s launch window titles (so it won’t be out on launch date, but not long after—probably by year’s end). Basement Crawl is described as a multiplayer game that revolves around laying traps to destroy other players.
