Supergiant Games’ amazing indie adventure Bastion is making the jump to mobile devices with its upcoming iPad version. In fact, it’s going to be available tomorrow, or sooner for people in different time zones.
As posted on the team’s website, there aren’t any other mobile versions of the game planned for development just yet, which will be a bit of a bummer for Android and iPhone users.
There’s also a few things you should know about iPad version of the game, so here’s a quick little breakdown of all the new tweaks and different nuance you’re getting with the download:
- It’s priced at $4.99.
- There’s Retina Display support.
- Controls are re-mapped for touch screen support.
- Classic controls are still available.
- It’s only compatible with the new iPad and iPad 2.
- You’ll need roughly 1GB of free space.
Bastion for iPad also includes the Stranger’s Dream sequence, which wasn’t part of Bastion‘s original release for Xbox 360 or PC, although you’ve probable gotten it as a free DLC update. There’s no microtransaction-y stuff either, so once you buy it, you’re getting the whole game in one pack.
It’s a good value for five bucks, and if you’re on the fence about it, go ahead and download it with my personal recommendation. Bastion is hands-down one of the absolute best titles for the iPad out there.
