Batman: Arkham City Script Nominated For UK Writers’ Guild Award

Posted on September 17, 2012 AT 11:05am

Rocksteady’s Paul Crocker is largely responsible for penning the script behind Batman: Arkham City, and now it looks like he may wrangle an award. All he has to do is beat two other UK Writers’ Guild Award nominees.

As announced last week, the 2012 UK Writers’ Guild Awards has three potential games that can take home the “Best Videogame Script” award, with a rather diverse selection.

Aside from Arkham City, the pool of nominees features talent from German studio Piranha Bytes and an award-winning British author-slash-columnist:

  • Batman: Arkham City – Paul Crocker
  • Risen 2 – Gordon Rennie, Alan Barnes, Emma Beeby
  • Zombies, Run! – Naomi Alderman

Last year, the stellar (and vastly underrated) Enslaved: Odyssey to the West won the award, supported by the writing team of Alex Garland and Tameem Antoniades. This year’s winner will be announced in less than a month on Wednesday, November 14th at the Tabernacle in Notting Hill.
