Game Informer’s May cover story confirms and reveals Batman: Arkham Origins, a prequel to Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.

According to Game Informer, Arkham Origins is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal, who have taken over building Batman for original developers Rocksteady Studios. The title is described as focusing on a “young, unrefined” Batman facing off against his foes for the first time. The only character confirmed so far (besides Batman, of course) is Deathstroke, featured on the back cover of the May 2013 Game Informer issue.

Game Informer also revealed a companion game, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, which will launch alongside of Arkham Origins on 3DS and PS Vita. The handheld game described as a “completely separate experience” that takes place after Origins and deliver a 2.5D Metroidvania experience. Blackgate is being developed by Armature Studio, who brought Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 to PS Vita.

Batman: Arkham Origins descends upon PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U this fall, October 25.
