Battlefield 1‘s first DLC expansion, They Shall Not Pass, is now available alongside a free update.
The update increases the resupply time of explosive gadgets and grenades to reduce the amount of choke spam, and makes several changes to weapons, including the MG 08/15, M1903 Experimental, LMGs, Madsen MG, and more.
“As part of an ongoing effort to address excessive use of explosive gadgets and grenades, we changed the way grenades resupply for this release,” developer DICE explains. “The goal for these changes is to reduce the amount of grenades available while getting constantly resupplied, as it is common in choke points, without making resupplies unnecessarily long in other gameplay.”
There’s also a new party leader feature that makes it so every party will now have a designated leader. The leader is in charge of joining a multiplayer game for the party and all party members will get a notification once the leader finds a game.
Other changes include UI improvements, bug fixes and map improvements. Take a look at the full patch notes here.
The They Shall Not Pass DLC is available now for Battlefield 1 Premium members and includes four new multiplayer maps, two new operations, the French Army, a new Elite Class, two vehicles, six primary weapons, four melee weapons, and a new mode called Frontlines. Non-Premium members will have to wait another two weeks before they can purchase the expansion.
