DICE has released a surprise update for Battlefield 1 that adds Xbox One X support to the game.

Following the update, Battlefield 1 will run at “full 4K resolution” on Xbox One X, with support for high dynamic range.

“We’ve heard your requests and are excited to deliver on a highly anticipated feature: Xbox One X 4K resolution rendering,” the developer wrote. “Now Xbox One X players can enjoy Battlefield 1 in full 4K resolution*; combined with high-dynamic range (HDR) colors, you’ll witness the battlefield like never before.”

Upcoming entry Battlefield V will include support for Microsoft’s more powerful console at launch.

Battlefield 1 is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
