Battlefield 3: Aftershock Now Available On iOS

THE BUZZ: EA has quietly released its free to play title Battlefield 3: Aftershock for iOS devices.

The game is now available from the iTunes store for absolutely nothing. An online first person shooter, Aftershock offers one map, five guns and one mode, however for free you can’t really complain.

EGM’s TAKE: Why did EA choose to sneak this onto the marketplace when they made such a song and dance yesterday about Mass Effect coming to iOS? Probably because Mass Effect actually looks decent and worth getting excited about, Aftershock on the other hand simply looks like a poorly made mobile game. It’s free so you can’t expect miracles but if EA were planning on monetizing this through DLC then they may be sorely disappointed. Sadly Aftershock looks like a game that fell out of a time warp, hopefully Mass Effect iOS will offer more.

What do you think of the game? Let us know in the comments below.
