Battlefield 3 launched on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC back in October, and FIFA 12 launched on all major platforms September.
EGM’s TAKE: These figures top off a bumper 2011 for the company, enjoying what could be classed as its most successful year in terms of title releases. Not only did EA launch its usual array of sports titles, but many other major titles sold well, and it even experienced the most successful MMO launch in history with Star Wars: The Old Republic. Despite all these sales, EA still couldn’t topple Modern Warfare 3, which was the best selling game of 2011. Maybe as the years continue Battlefield can gain enough momentum to finally overtake the Call of Duty behemoth.
