Battlefield 3 Color Grading Console Command No Longer Happening
Posted on October 24, 2012 AT 03:29am

Earlier this week DICE’s Michael Kalms revealed that the developer was planning on implementing a console command that would allow players to disable color grading in Battlefield 3, sadly it appears that this is no longer happening.
Kalms apologetically announced that he had spoken too soon about the option and that it is not going to happen, he offered this statement to MordorHQ:
“As a studio, it is extremely important for us at DICE to have a unique identity in our games, not only from a gameplay perspective, but visually as well. While we appreciate that some players might want a slightly different look to the game, we are proud of the visual identity of Battlefield 3 and do not wish to change it.”
This talk all stemmed from a recent mod that allowed players to disable color grading in the game, which DICE then revealed could get users banned if they chose to use it. This console command looked like the developer’s way of offering a legal workaround, sadly that seems to no longer be the case.
