It wasn’t so long ago that EA announced that Battlefield 3 had sold 10 million copies. Now, the game has hit another milestone.
In their financial earnings report, EA revealed that Battlefield 3 has shipped 15 million copies—which now makes it the best-performing Battlefield title to date. Now, that number is shipped, not sold, so that doesn’t mean that 15 million copies are in the hands of gamers around the world. Still, that’s a massive number, and no doubt EA will be able to say “sold” instead of “shipped” in the near future.
In fact, EA says that they expect to have sold 18 million copies of Battlefield 3 by the time their fiscal year ends on March 31st of next year. So, not too shabby Dice. Not too shabby.
