Battlefield 3

EA has announced that all Battlefield 3 players can enjoy double XP across all game modes this weekend–as if you needed an excuse to play.

The event begins June 15 and runs until June 18. Double XP is valid across all maps and modes on ranked servers. With Premium members getting early access to the Close Quarters expansion this week, there’s really no need for EA to try to bribe people into playing the game, but we’re not going to complain if they want to try.

Double XP weekends are by far the best time to jump on and play, especially if you don’t get a lot of time in the week. You’re getting the same level of reward for half of the effort. How can you say no to that?

Close Quarters goes on sale to everyone else June 19 on PlayStation 3 and June 26 on Xbox 360 and PC. The DLC includes four new maps, two modes, ten assignments and ten new weapons.

Will you pop on this weekend for double XP?
