Battlefield 3 Hits Another Impressive Sales Mark

THE BUZZ: Battlefield 3 has already been a great success for EA and DICE, but today the companies put out an update on just how much of a success it has been so far.
During today’s Baird Technology Conference in San Francisco, EA CFO Eric Brown announced that since lost, Battlefield 3 has sold 8 million copies. As well, the amount of copies shipped to stores has also increased, now sitting at 12 million copies versus the original count of 10 million that were released for the game’s launch.
EGM’s TAKE: In late October, EA announced that Battlefield Bad Company 2 had sold nearly 11 million copies at that point. With the rate that Battlefield 3 is selling, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it catch up to BC2 before too long–which, really, would be a very impressive feat.
