It appears that plenty of you are still waging war in Battlefield 3, as EA announced that the game currently has 6.3 million active users.
“Battlefield 3 had a record year, establishing itself as one of EA’s premier game services and in the process successfully took share in the growing First-Person Shooter market,” the publisher said. During an earnings call yesterday CEO John Riccitiello promised, ”exciting new developments for the Battlefield franchise as fiscal year 2013 progresses.”
The game’s success has primarily been credited to DICE’s new engine. The level of destruction and graphic fidelity is currently unmatched by any other FPS. Also, the team has worked hard to ensure that all classes, weapons and gadgets are well balanced and fun to use. With three new DLC packs planned for this year, Battlefield 3 isn’t going to be fading away anytime soon.
